Immediate Past President and Founder Lieutenant Rodney Sherrod
Lieutenant Rodney Sherrod has been with the Lexington Division of Police for 11 years and currently serves as the Assistant Commander of the Emergency Response Unit and the Training Section. Lieutenant Sherrod has been with the Emergency Response Unit for 10 years and has been exposed to nearly 300 separate activations. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently working towards his Masters Degree. Lieutenant Sherrod holds several teaching certifications through the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
Vice–President Lieutenant Kevin Nally
Lieutenant Kevin Nally is a 17 year veteran of the Kentucky State Police and is currently the Assistant Commander of the Special Operations Branch. Previous assignments include: Richmond KSP Post 7, Special Response Team, Frankfort KSP Post 12-Sergeant, Staff Instructor KSP Academy, Harlan Post 10-Operations Lieutenant, Assistant Commander of Academy Branch, Dry Ridge KSP Post 6- Investigative Lieutenant. Lieutenant Nally is a USMC veteran and certified KLEC instructor.
Secretary –Lieutenant Tony Cobaugh
Tony Cobaugh began his career in criminal justice in 1977. He has served 25 years in law enforcement and 5 years in corrections. Tony became a KLEC-certified police instructor in 1980. He has 20 years of SWAT experience. Currently, Tony serves as the, river unit and SWAT commander for the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Treasurer –Sergeant Roger Holland
Sergeant Holland has been with the Lexington Division of Police since 1998 and a team member of the Emergency Response Unit since 2000. He is currently assigned as one of the teams snipers. Sgt. Holland holds certification as a KLEC instructor, PPCT instructor, Rappel Master, and NRA Precision Rifle Instructor.
Central Region Director – Lieutenant Rob Richardson
Lieutenant Richardson is a 13 year veteran of Law Enforcement. He is the current team leader for the departments Tactical Response Unit with 11 years of experience on the team. Lieutenant Richardson has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Easter Kentucky University (EKU) and is a graduate of DOCJT's Academy of Police Supervision (APS) and Criminal Justice Executive Development (CJED). Lieutenant Richardson also serves as his department’s coordinator for their field training program and wellness program.
Northern Regional Director – Sergeant John Lonaker
Sgt. John Lonaker is a sixteen year law enforcement veteran. He also served four years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. Sgt. Lonaker is currently assigned as a Patrol Supervisor with the Independence Police Department. He is the Team Commander for the Northern Kentucky Emergency Response Unit and has served in that capacity for the past four years. Sgt. Lonaker has over twelve years of SWAT experience including duties as entry, sniper and team leader. Sgt. Lonaker's main goal as a K.T.O.A. director is to enhance the spirit of cooperation among area teams.
Southeastern Regional Director –Sergeant Mike Crawford
Sergeant Mike Crawford has 17 years law enforcement experience including 13 years serving on a tactical team. Currently serves as Field Supervisor and Assistant Team Commander of the Special Response Team for the Ashland Police Department and has previously been assigned as a sniper and entry team member. Specialties include Active Shooter Instructor, Precision Rifle Instructor, advanced level firearms instructor and law enforcement thermography. Sergeant Crawford is a Veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a military working dog handler specializing in detection of explosives and controlled substances and a member of the Emergency Service Team while stationed in Europe.
Western Regional Director – Captain Brett Hightower
Captain Brett Hightower has been employed by the Bowling Green Police since 1994. He is currently the Patrol Commander on Adam Shift and the Critical Response Team's Tactical Commander. He has been on the tactical team since inception in 1998 serving as operator, team leader, and Commander. He has previously been assigned to patrol operations, bike patrol, Warren County Drug Task Force, Honor Guard, and the Neighborhood Response Team. He is a 1992 graduate of Western Kentucky University and a current member in the Kentucky National Guard.
Western Regional Director - Captain Kevin Wiles
Captain Kevin Wiles is an evening shift patrol commander for the Bowling
Green Police Department. He is also serving as the tactical commander
for the department's Critical Response Team in the absence of Captain
Hightower who is currently deployed with the military. He previously
served in the USMC Reserves and is a graduate of the FBI National
Academy. He holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from EKU.
